One of my blog friends, JettyBetty, stays busy jetting all around the country on fun trips and has visited almost all 50 states. (She may have checked off all 50 by now). DH and I have the goal of visiting all 50 states, but with a slightly different twist. We like to visit Stabucks coffee shops in each state and city we pass through. To keep track, I made a map:
It was really fun to make. Some friendly Omaha Starbucks baristas generously provided me with the colorful stickers, and I glued coffee beans to a cheap frame. Alas, some of the beans have come off. I had to pry them off one-by-one when I was out of my own espresso beans and desperately needed a latte one morning. ;) The map came out of an atlas.
We have a ways to go to check off all 50 states, but so far we've been to Starby's in AL, AZ, CA, CO, KS, NE, ND, and SD.
I've never been to Texas, but would LOVE my first visit to include sitting in a Starbuck's with JettyBetty, chatting over a latte! :)

I LOVE that idea--I would so love to have a latte with you as you visit TX!!!
This is such a wonderful idea (visiting Starbucks in every state!)--I think I may just have to start over and do all 50 states again and visit a Starbucks in each one this time!!
Your map is so creative--that is so funny you had to take beans off to have a latte one morning--sometimes a girl just has to have her latte!
JB: Gotcha! I didn't really pry the beans off to make a latte- although I may have been a little tempted if I hadn't sprayed them with a protective clear coat! ;)
Actually they got knocked down by kids, me trying to carry a heavy laundry basket, etc. I need to find a stronger glue, I guess!
My daughter would love that with a Toys-R-Us theme!!!
That is the most creative and fun thing I've seen in awhile! I love it!
If you ever come thru central Indiana, let me know! I'll meet you at Starbucks.
Wow! What creativity! If you guys ever venture down to Keesler just look me up! We'll hit Starbucks together!
Anne, put your family on a plane, come over to Germany and we'll add some international Starbucks :). We even have one in Bonn. I love Starbucks too - white chocolate mocha mmh!
And I managed to actually update my blog a little, yeah.
Mary: My kids would like that theme too! Hmmm... that's a cool idea about using another theme...
WTM: Gee, thanks! Now I'm going to have to make it my goal to meet my cool blogging buddies... in each Starbucks... in each state. Fun!
Princess Ruby: That would be awesome- though with DH in Space Command, I don't think that base is on the radar! But, I know you're just itchin' to get back to ND, right?? I was so excited that our town got a Starby's about two years ago. And now a SuperWalmart... we're in the bigtime now! :)
Jeannine: That would be GREAT! Well, maybe not the whole family on an airplane part right now. I got to visit Germany on a band trip in college and loved it!! I definitely want to go back, and it would be even better to get a personal tour from you!
I would DEFINITLY pry the beans off. :)
Very neat idea! I love it!
Well if you're ever in Georgia there's a Starbucks right near me! :-)
I think that's a great idea. My grandparents were avid campers, and they had a map in their camper where they colored in each state when they would camp there. I thought that was a great idea and I'd love to do it too!
Hey, there's one in Alaska right by me...
:)
Man, I have a lot of states to go!
Holly: Nah, no with glue and clear-coat on them... would you?? :)
Ashley: That's neat about your grandparents. I think it's neat how we remember certain things from the past.
Molly: Cool! Alaska needs the warm goodness of Starbucks just as much if not more than North Dakota here! There's nothing better than a warm latte on those cold winter days!
The map is cool. I can relate to keeping track of coffee stops. I enjoyed this post Anne. Sorry I haven't dropped in for so long. Life has been a bit hectic. Coffee has been consumed as normal though.
